To see if a domain name is available, simply enter the name you want in the above box and then choose ".com", ".net", ".org", ".biz" or ".info" from the the drop-down menu and click on "Start." Do not enter email addresses or "http."

You will see whether it is available or not. If it is not available, try another name or domain. When you find one you like, you should consider registering it immediately. Even if you're not sure you are going to have a website, it's better to reserve it now than regret it later.
